Regional coordinator (Lahore)

HRCP is looking for a regional coordinator based in Lahore. Candidates should have at least a four-year bachelor’s degree in the social sciences and a minimum of five years’ experience of working with rights-based organizations in Pakistan.

The position requires sound outreach and social mobilization skills, familiarity with human rights concerns specific to Punjab, excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in English, Urdu and Punjabi, and the ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines. Candidates should also have a demonstrable interest in working in the field of human rights and be willing to travel to project sites within Punjab. Strong candidates will have access to Punjab-based human rights networks and an existing base of contacts among activists, lawyers, the media, legislators and government representatives.

Broadly, the regional coordinator’s responsibilities will include: (a) organizing activities in Punjab, including outreach and advocacy meetings, demonstrations and workshops, (b) engaging and lobbying with legislators, policymakers and stakeholders to advocate for action on human rights problems, (c) organizing and conducting fact-finding missions in the province, and (d) documenting rights violations in Punjab and maintaining a regular record to support advocacy and awareness initiatives.

This position is for a fixed one-year period and is subject to renewal annually, based on performance.
